TMJ Headaches
Temporo-Mandibular Joint pain

Do you suffer from headaches, neck and shoulder pain, or a sore jaw? Studies have shown that some head, neck and facial pain is caused or triggered by the jaw muscles. It is easy to see how this could be: just place your hands on the side of your face and clench your teeth together - you can feel the big jaw muscles all the way from your cheeks to your temples.

Reduce the pain of TMJ headaches

Most dentists agree that an uneven bite can frequently trigger teeth clenching and grinding, this in turn can cause worn-down teeth. For many years the underlying problem, the uneven bite, has been overlooked, especially in the case of people with head, neck and facial pain.

The problem is that when a person’s bite is not even, it is almost like trying to walk with one shoe on and one shoe off. It can be done, but other muscles have to overwork to compensate. And that extra muscle activity can cause the muscles to fatigue and start to hurt. These overworked muscles can cause primary pain or can trigger secondary pain such as tension and migraine headaches.

Here at TG’s we have extensive training and understanding of these relationships and are happy to help you in your goal to reduce the number and severity of headaches you may be experiencing due to Temporo-Mandibular Joint pain.
